RALEIGH – With a 32nd-place finish in the final 2015-16 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings, NC State has now consecutively posted five of the top 10 finishes in school history.
One year prior to Debbie Yow's arrival as Director of Athletics, one of NC State's programs finished in the top 25 of its final rankings. The last two academic years (2014-15 and 2015-16) have featured NC State's programs achieving this feat 19 times.
The Directors' Cup has been the gold standard for recognizing broad-based competitive excellence in collegiate athletics since its inception in 1993-94. Schools earn their ranking exclusively through advancement in NCAA postseason championships.
