Three Wrap Up Strong Play At Women’s Western Am

Overbey and Ko advanced to Round of 32
DAYTON, Ohio- The NC State women's golf team was well represented this week at the Women's Western Golf Association (WWGA) National Amateur Championship, as Naomi Ko, Cecily Overbey and Stephanie Pribonic all finished in the top-64 to advance to match play.
Overbey finished in a tie for second place in the stroke play standings as she carded a 36-hole total of 140 (71-69), while Ko finished T14th with a two-day score of 145 (69-76) and Pribonic posted a 147 (72-75) to tie for 25th. All three qualified for the championship flight as the tournament was held at Dayton Country Club.
In the match play portion of the championship Ko and Overbey managed to advance to the second round. In the Round of 64 Pribonic fell to Terri Doss after 19 holes while Overbey defeated Kelly Okun, 3&2, and Ko earned a 2&1 win over Mia Kness.
In the Round of 32 Overbey fell to Jillian Hollis, 2-up, and Ko fell to Kelly Whaley, 1-up.
