Norenius, Weigel Named All-ACC Academic

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After two exceptional senior seasons, both Simon Norenius and Thomas Weigel have been named to the All-ACC Academic Team. The two are first-time honorees for the award.
Both Norenius and Weigel capped off their careers, finishing top-10 in school history in both singles and doubles play.
Weigel finished second in school history in most wins in a spring season, while Norenius advanced to the NCAA Singles Championships was named the ITA Carolina Region Senior Player of the Year and. Both finished the year ranked in the ITA singles poll and earned a spot on the All-ACC team.
NC State's two honorees are tied for the third most in the conference. Only Virginia and Wake Forest had more athletes on the team.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
