
Pack Softball Commit Wins State Championship, Player of the Year

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State softball commit Jade Caraway recently led West Orange High School of Winter Garden, Fla., to the Class 9A State Championship. The Warriors finished the season with a 30-1 record after winning the championship game against Tampa Alonso, 6-0.

In addition, Caraway was named the All-Metro Conference Spring Female Athlete of the Year following a phenomenal senior campaign. A November signee with the Wolfpack, she was also tabbed an East All-Star Selection by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA).
Caraway turned in a 2-for-4 performance in the championship game, highlighted by a double and two runs batted in (RBI). In 31 games as a senior at West Orange, she compiled a batting average of .474 with 45 hits, 44 runs scored, 27 stolen bases and 22 RBI.

The talented Florida recruit joins Haley Finn, Haylee Kobziak, Peyton Silverman and Kassidy Wood as members of the Wolfpack's 2016 recruiting class set to join the program in the fall.

Kobziak was recently named the Southern Carolina 3A Softball Player of the Year, finishing the season with a batting average of .594 with 38 hits, 28 RBI, 23 runs scored and five home runs. She also guided Cuthbertson High School to the conference championship.
