4/7/2016 4:13:00 PM | Track
RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State track and field program will make the trip to Greenville, N.C., for the Bill Carson Invitational. It will be the Pack's first scored meet of the season, as it competes against ECU (host), The Citadel, Coastal Carolina, High Point, Troy and UNC Charlotte.
Most of the team's throwers, jumpers and sprinters will be in action, as well as a group of distance runners. The throwers will kickoff the meet on Friday, while the rest of the team will be in competition Saturday.
Postseason Marks:
While the meet will be scored and crown a winner, the primary goal for the Pack is to earn postseason qualification. The team currently has 30 ACC qualifying marks, and 29 marks ranked in the top-48 of the East region. The meet also marks the halfway point of the outdoor regular season and is just over a month from the ACC Championships.
Season Debut:
Jonathan Addison will make his high jump debut, Younique Morgan will debut in the shot put and Gianna Frontera will run in the 1,500m for the first time this season.
Unattached Runners:
The Pack's true freshmen will also be back in action. Philip Hall, Ben Barrett and Kyle Christ will run unattached in the 1,500m. All three are coming off a strong showing in the 5,000m at the Raleigh Relays. Hall will also run in the 800m dash and Megan Vaughn will race unattached in the women's 1,500m.
