Kozeniesky claims the individual title
RALEIGH, N.C. – For the fifth consecutive season, the NC State rifle team has won the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) championship. The 11th-ranked Wolfpack fired a team score of 2340 to claim the top spot in the event.
Junior Lucas Kozeniesky claimed the individual crown by finishing first in the finals, while sophomore Caitlyn Ford finished second.
In the preliminaries, Kozeniesky fired the Wolfpack's top score at 587. Sophomore Derya Pekari charted a 586 clip, while Ford turned in a total of 585. The three shooters helped NC State finish first, second and third in the individual standings.
Senior Alex Martin tallied a score of 582 and classmate Daniel Cliff recorded a 575 to round out the counting lineup for NC State.
All five of the aforementioned were named to the All-SEARC team.

North Georgia finished second in the team standings at 2306, while Georgia Southern was third at 2285. The Citadel men's team was fourth (2278), Wofford fifth (2259), while The Citadel women and UAB were sixth (2232) and seventh (2187), respectively.
Kozeniesky and Ford have been selected to compete as individuals in the NCAA Championships this weekend. As a team, NC State concludes the season with a 31-4 overall record and was perfect in the SEARC conference with a 24-0 mark, in addition to 5-3 clip in the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC).
Unfortunately, 2015-16 is the final year of the SEARC conference as NC State will be a full member of the GARC next season. Most of the league teams will transition to the Southern Conference next year, as they will start sponsoring Rifle as a full conference sport.
