Men's Basketball Banquet Sets The Scene For ACC Tournament

Starting Tuesday at noon in the ACC Tournament, it's a new season for the NC State men's basketball program. Head coach Mark Gottfried and the Wolfpack held the team's annual banquet Sunday night, setting the scene for the 2016 basketball postseason.
Autographs, special presentations and dinner surrounded the team honoring its players for their accomplishments this season. Each year, the event serves as a send-off to the team as it travels to the ACC Tournament.
"We have a chance to rewrite the story of our season," Gottfried said.Â

Chris Corchiani Most Steals Award: Cody Martin
Thurl Bailey Most Blocks Award: BeeJay Anya
Ronnie Shavlik/Tommy Burleson Most Rebounds Award: Abdul-Malik Abu
Scott Wood Best 3-pt Shooter Award: Caleb Martin
Terry Gannon Free Throw Percentage Award: Cat Barber
Kevin Thompson Field Goal Percentage Award: BeeJay Anya
Chris Corchiani Most Assists Award: Cat Barber
Everett Case Scholar Athlete Award: Maverick Rowan and Chase Cannon
6th Man Award: Caleb Martin
Nate McMillan Best Defender Award: BeeJay Anya and Cody Martin
Norm Sloan Most Improved Player Award: Abdul-Malik Abu
Jon Speaks/Julius Hodge Spirit Award: Lennard Freeman
Jim Valvano Coaches Award: Shaun Kirk
David Thompson Team MVP Award: Cat Barber
