Six From NC State Named To All-EAGL Teams

Brittni Watkins led the team with four honors
BALTIMORE- Six NC State gymnasts were selected to the All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) teams for the 2016 season, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

The Wolfpack collected 10 mentions in all four rotations as well as two in the all-around competition, giving the team a total of 12.

Senior Brittni Watkins led the team with four honors, as she was named to first team on vault (9.825), bars (9.815), floor (9.890) and all-around (39.240).

Sophomore Chelsea Knight collected mentions in three events, as she was named to first team on vault (9.805) and all-around (38.960) and second team on bars (9.785).

Sophomore Nicole Wild tabbed first team honors on beam (9.830) and second team honors on bars (9.785), while Michaela Woodford was named to second team on floor (9.810).

Additionally, freshmen Alexa and Paris Phillips earned second team honors vault with RQS marks of 9.775 and 9.740, in respective order. Â

First Team All-EAGL on each event and in all-around includes the top-eight ranked gymnasts (including ties) from the 10-week regular season. Second Team All-EAGL on each event and in all-around includes No. 9 - No. 16 ranked gymnasts (including ties) from the regular season. All rankings are based the gymnasts' RQS (Regional Qualifying Score).Â
