Fillard Named EAGL Rookie Of The Week

This marks her second mention of the season

BALTIMORE, Md.- After the NC State gymnastics team's #STATEment performance in its last time out, freshman Caitlyn Fillard was named Co-EAGL Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.

She shares the honor with New Hampshire's Danielle Doolin.

This marks her second mention of the season, as she helped play a vital role in NC State's victory on Saturday at Chapel Hill. The Wolfpack posted a season-high score of 194.900 to defeat Bowling Green (194.800) host UNC-CH (193.400) and Pittsburgh (193.350) in a quad meet.

Fillard earned top-10 finishes in the three events she competed on last weekend, including tabbing a career-high mark of 9.825 on floor to finish sixth in the event standings. Additionally, she notched marks of 9.725 on vault and 9.700 on beam to finish seventh and 10^th, in respective order.

NC State will return to Chapel Hill Friday for a tri-meet with UNC-CH and William and Mary. The meet is set for a 7 p.m. start inside Carmichael Arena.
