RALEIGH - An X-ray after Wednesday night's game against UNC Chapel Hill revealed Lennard Freeman has a reoccurring stress reaction in his lower right leg.
Freeman, a 6-9 junior forward, underwent a procedure on the same leg on June 3. The procedure inserted a titanium fixation rod in his lower right leg, providing stability to the injury.
He remains available to play but limited in minutes and in practice. He will undergo further evaluation by team doctors and NC State's sports medicine staff after the season.Â
"Lennard has shown a great deal of toughness and willingness to play through pain to help his team this season," head coach Mark Gottfried said. "He will be very limited in his availability and we will continue to monitor his status."Â
Freeman is second on the team in rebounding this season (5.6 rpg) and has started 15 games.Â
