
No. 30 NC State Bounces Back in Win Over Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. – After dropping a match to No. 20 Northwestern on Friday, the No. 30 NC State men's tennis team bounced back nicely in a 5-2 victory over Michigan State.
The Wolfpack improves to 10-3 on the season, while Michigan State falls to 8-5.
Match Recap:
NC State fell behind 1-0 after dropping the doubles point. Michael Ogden and Thomas Weigel earned the Pack's lone win on court three, before the Pack narrowly fell 7-5 on court 2 and 7-6 on court one.
NC State quickly recovered in singles play, winning five of the six first sets to take momentum in the match.
Thomas Weigel added the Pack's first point to pull level with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win. NC State took the lead with No. 53 Nick Horton's victory on court two.
The Spartans answered back with a victory on court five, but It was all NC State the rest of the way.
Ivan Saveljic and Igor Saveljic rattled off straight-set wins in their respective matches, and No. 74 Simon Norenius capped off the day with a 7-6, 6-3 win on court one.
Notes:
The win hands Michigan State just their second home loss of the year, and NC State pulls level at 3-3 in the overall series.
Michael Ogden and Thomas Weigel earned their sixth win of the season with a win a No. 3 doubles. The duo leads the Pack this season in doubles wins.
Norenius earned his 10th duel win of the season and extended his winning streak to seven straight. The senior is a perfect 5-0 from the No. 1 singles position. Fellow senior Thomas Wegiel also earned his 10th win of the year. Weigel is now 10-2 this season.
Both Saveljic twins earned their sixth wins of the season, and Horton picked up his ninth win of the year.
