RALEIGH, N.C. - Four members of the 2015 NC State football team have been invited to the 2016 NFL Combine - QB Jacoby Brissett, CB Juston Burris, TE David J. Grinnage, and OL Joe Thuney.
Brissett started for two seasons for the Pack, after transferring from Florida when head coach Dave Doeren was first hired at NC State. In just 25 games under center, he finished his Wolfpack career fifth in school history in
career passing TDs (44), 7th in yards (5,260), 5th in completions (463), and fifth in touchdown responsibility with 54.
Burris, a local Raleigh product from Broughton High School, was a 3-1/2 year starter for the Wolfpack at cornerback, starting 43 career contests. He finished 2015 with 38 tackles, including 29 solo stops, and an interception. Just this week, he was named the All-ACC Academic team.
Grinnage decided to forego his final year of eligibility and enter the 2016 NFL Draft back in January. He tallied 25 catches in 2015, with 18 coming against ranked teams. He played in 38 career games, starting 25, and hauled in 67 receptions for 798 yards and nine touchdowns.
Thuney was a 2015 USA Today first-team All-American and a member of the All-ACC team as a senior, as he did not allow a sack during ACC play. Like Burris, Thuney was also named to the All-ACC Academic team and received the Weaver-James-Corrigan Honorary Postgraduate Award from the ACC.
The 2016 NFL Combine will take place in Indianapolis from Feb. 23-29. The event is broken up into 11 Groups, and each group will be participating for four days. The 2016 NFL Draft is April 28-30.
