
Rohskopf Scores Pin at NWCA All-Star Classic

Pack senior gets third period pin on 2015 All-American and #4 ranked wrestler
CLEVELAND, OHIO - Senior Max Rohskopf kicked off the 2016-17 NC State wrestling season in style, scoring a pin to win his match Saturday night at the 2016 NWCA All-Star Classic in Cleveland, Ohio. Rohskopf scored the victory over Michigan's Brian Murphy, a 2015 All-American and the #4 ranked wrestler at 157 pounds by FloWrestling.
Rohskopf, wrestling at the All-Star Classic for the second year in a row and the first in his new weight class of 157 pounds, got to wrestling in front of his family and friends that made the trek from Kilobuck, Ohio.
Murphy scored the first takedown, and after a Rohskopf escape, it was 2-1 heading into the second.
Rohskopf started the period on top, but Murphy scored a reversal and then got two-back points to take a 6-1 lead. Rohskopf would score his own reversal and stay on top the rest of the period to push the score to 6-3.
To start the third, Rohskopf started down and got an early escape to close the gap to 6-4. Rohskopf then went in for his own takedown, but quickly turned into into the winning pin at 5:44.
It was Rohskopf's second victory in a row the All-Star Classic. He defeated Oklahoma's Clark Glass 9-2 last season in Atlanta at 165 pounds.
