GREENSBORO, N.C. – Tziarra King and Kia Rankin were named All-ACC selections, as announced by the conference office on Thursday. King was selected to the All-ACC Third Team, while both King and Rankin were honorees on the All-ACC Freshman Team.
The honors mark the first time in program history that NC State has placed two on the All-ACC Freshman Team in a single season. The freshmen currently lead the Wolfpack attack in points and goals and have combined to score the last five goals for NC State.
King holds the team lead in both points and goal with 17 points from 8 goals and 1 assist. The Sicklerville, N.J., native is currently top-10 in NC State freshmen records for points and goals. Rankin is tied for second on the team with 13 points from five goals and three assists.
Both have also received national praise, as the two were ranked on Top Drawer Soccer's Mid-Season Top-100 Freshmen list.
The two have been instrumental in leading NC State to its best season in recent history. The Wolfpack earned its first ACC Championship appearance since 2006, set the second-best mark in program history in wins and points in ACC play and defeated five opponents ranked or receiving votes in the national polls.
NC State is currently awaiting selection for the NCAA Championships. The field of 64 will be set Monday at 4:30 p.m. and announced live via a selection show on NCAA.com.
