Wolfpack Set To Host NC State GAC Invite

Invitational to be hosted in championship format
RALEIGH-Â After a weekend off from competition, the NC State swimming and diving team is set to host its first invitational of the season, the NC State GAC Invite Thursday through Saturday inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Prelims will begin at 9:30 a.m. while finals will commence at 5:30 p.m. each day.Â
Invitational Format
This will be the first time NC State has hosted this invitational, as the championship-style format will serve as an opportunity for all participating teams to compete in a format much like postseason championships. A combined 14 men's and women's programs will be competing, and eight are listed among the latest CSCAA top 25 rankings.Â
The Wolfpack has been extremely successful in preparing for the NCAA Championships this season, as the team has tabbed a combined 47 'B' cuts. This weekend NC State will look to improve on its already existing NCAA standard marks as well as add to the program's total.
Pack In The Polls
The Pack made history in the national rankings last week, as the men's team topped the latest CSCAA polls (Nov. 9) while the women checked in at No. 6. This marked the first time in program history the men have been ranked No. 1 and the women have been listed among the top 10 in back-to-back weeks.Â
Last Time Out
NC State split its dual at Texas in its last time out (Nov. 4). The men's team earned a 173.5-126.5Â win over the two-time defending national champion Longhorns while the women fell to UT 166.5-127.5 inside the Texas Swimming Center.Â
The team won a combined 16 of 32 events contested as the men remain undefeated (3-0) in dual meet action while the women hold a 2-1 ledger on the season.Â
