The Diamond
The football squad will take the field wearing throwback helmets and jerseys. The uniform will feature the red diamond logo, which was brought to NC State by head coach Dick Sheridan in 1986, his first year as head coach. The Wolfpack wore that helmet for the next 14 seasons, until going back to the traditional Block S in 2000.
The diamond logo will also be featured on flags featured on the stadium east side.
Special 50th Anniversary game shirts featuring the diamond logo are available exclusively at GoPack.com, Wolfpack Outfitters in the Talley Student Union, and at the concession tents at Carter-Finley. Other items featuring five vintage helmet designs and the #CF50 logo are available at those locations, as well Cracker Barrel, Alumni Hall, and the Red & White shop. $50,000 Giveaway
In honor of #CF50, the Wolfpack will be giving away $50,000 in the Pack Payout. Fans who stay in their seats during halftime could be selected to win. If the Wolfpack scores a touchdown in the first minute of the third quarter, 10 lucky fans will win $5,000 each.
Throwback Concession Prices
If cheering on the Wolfpack makes you hungry, concessions stands throughout the stadium will also be celebrating like it's 1966, with special anniversary-priced popcorn for just $1 and footlong hot dogs for the price of a regular hotdog ($3.00). There will also be a new item offered at all of the large stands (A, B, C, D, E, F) - a $5 hamburger.
Special Celebrations
The families of stadium namesakes Nick Carter (1902-1972), Harry Carter (1908-1990), and A.E. Finley (1895-1985) will also be recognized during the game, as will Jim Brenner, who has served as an usher since the stadium first opened its doors on Oct. 8, 1966.
The Power Sound of the South will perform a special 50th Anniversary show during halftime.
