NC State to Face Notre Dame in Opening Round of ACC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The NC State women's soccer team will face No. 1 overall seed Notre Dame in a quarterfinal match at the 2016 ACC Women's Soccer Championship, marking the program's first appearance at the tournament since 2006.

The Wolfpack will travel to South Bend, Ind., for a Sunday 1 p.m. match at No. 12 Notre Dame. All four quarterfinal matches will be played at 1 p.m. simultaneously.
The Wolfpack and Irish met earlier this season, as Notre Dame edged the Pack for a 1-0 victory in Raleigh.

NC State clinched the postseason appearance after a victory over Pitt in the final match of the regular season. The win pushed the Pack to 13 points and four ACC wins, which are the most points and wins since 1995.
