Graduate student Lukas Zarges joins the Pack for 2016
Lukas Zarges, a first team All-SoCon performer at UNCG, has transferred to NC State for the 2016 season. Zarges will pursue a Masters in Liberal Studies while competing for the Pack. Full bio below, courtesy UNCG Athletics.
2014 (Junior)
Played and started in 12 games to earn his third letter … Named First Team All-Southern Conference, despite missing time due to injury …. Scored his lone goal of the year against Furman (Oct. 21) … Recorded 24 shots on the year, including a season-high five against Mercer (Oct. 18) and ETSU (Nov. 8).
2013 (Sophomore)
Played in 17 games to earn his second letter … Made 15 starts, predominantly in the midfield … Finished with four points on the strength of one goal and two assists … Found the back of the net against Elon (Nov. 2) … Dished out helpers against Elon and Virginia (Oct. 29) … All four of his points came in the final three games … Posted 28 shots on the year.Â
2012 (Freshman)
Named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team … Played in 16 games and made 12 starts to earn his first letter … Played primarily in the midfield but also saw action at forward … Third on the team in scoring with nine points ... Scored three goals and dished out three assists … Third on the team with 21 shots … Scored a career-high three points against UNC Asheville (Sept. 2) and Davidson (Sept. 25) … Goal against Davidson was a game-winning tally … Also found the back of the net in the SoCon Tournament scoring the Spartans' lone goal against Georgia Southern (Nov. 4) … Dished out an assist against Georgia Southern (Oct. 16) in the regular season.Â
Prior To UNCG
Played for the U-15 and U-16 German national team while attending Philipp Reis Schule … Played club soccer for Eintracht Frankfurt and helped his team to the 2011 Dallas Cup championship and a third place finish in the 2009 Dallas Cup.
