RALEIGH – The NC State women's soccer team opens its home schedule on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. when Elon comes to Dail Soccer Field.

A WIN ON THURSDAY WOULD...
-Be the 322nd win in program history
-Be NC State's 13th win over Elon (13th meeting)
-Be HC Tim Santoro's first win over Elon (first meeting)

SERIES HISTORY
-Thursday's match will mark the 13th all-time meeting between NC State and Elon.
-The Wolfpack holds a 12-0-0 edge in the series.
-The last meeting between the teams resulted in a 3-0 Wolfpack win in Raleigh on September 2, 2012.

SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
-Elon enters Thursday's match the owner of a 1-0 record in 2015.
-The Phoenix had its first match of the season (at Charleston Southern) cancelled due to lightning on August 21.
-Elon won 1-0 at Davidson in overtime on Aug. 23.
-The Phoenix returns 22 letterwinners and adds 10 newcomers to a 2014 squad which went 5-12.
-Elon was selected to finish eighth in the Colonial Athletic Association's preseason poll.

HOME STRETCH
Four of NC State's next five matches are at home. Following the Aug. 27 home opener vs. Elon, NC State will host Oregon (Sept. 4), William & Mary (Sept. 6), and UNC Greensboro (Sept. 10) immediately following an Aug. 30 trip to East Tennessee State.

YOUTH MOVEMENT
Two Wolfpackers have played all 182 minutes of the 2015 season: Alyson Brown and freshman Hannah Keogh. Of the top five minute leaders on the team this season, three are freshmen.

SENSATIONAL SYDNEY
Freshman goalkeeper Sydney Wootten had a sensational career debut in the match against No. 10 Pepperdine. The San Diego native made seven saves and held the Waves scoreless before she came off the field with a minor injury in the 80th minute.

GOAL LINE TECHNOLOGY?
NC State came inches from beating No. 10 Pepperdine in the 90th minute on Aug. 23. A Cailyn Boch header from a Jackie Stengel cross beat the goalkeeper and hovered around the goal line. Three Wolfpack attackers heartily contested that the ball crossed the line for the winning goal, but the match officials did not agree.
