CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The last 24 hours has been jammed PACKed, as the NC State football squad continues to enjoy its Belk Bowl experience. Head Coach Dave Doeren's squad had some fun before going to work this afternoon.
The team had some free time following practice yesterday. Some headed to the pool, some watched film and got treatment, while others took naps. Around 6:30 p.m., the buses headed to SouthPark Mall and a shopping spree at Belk.
After receiving their gift cards and their Belk Bowl watches, the players spread out all over the store. Joe Thuney and Cole Cook looked at suits. Monty Nelson, Sean Paul and Josh Jones were among those checking out the watches. Quinton Schooley was seen in the purse department to shop for his significant other, while M.J. Salahuddin looked through the kids' clothing for something for his son.
This morning, following special teams meetings, the team headed to the Charlotte Motor Speedway and the Richard Petty Driving experience.  The team lined up for a group shot, then Belk Bowl Director Will Webb presented Coach Doeren with a racing jacket and hat. Â
The Wolfpack and Mississippi State feasted on BBQ, fried chicken, beans, slaw and platter after platter of huge cookies, before heading out on the track. Although the weather prohibited rides in the real race cars, they were able to go out in more weather tolerant cars. Â
The guys had a great time experiencing the speed as well as the height of the turns. Many of the guys got back in line to have another ride as soon as they returned from the track.
As soon as the buses returned from the Speedway, it was up to the temporary locker room for a quick change, a team meeting and the buses left for practice.
