Spencer’s 23 Points Help Wolfpack (8-3) Crush Catamounts

RALEIGH – In its final home game of the 2015 calendar year, the NC State women's basketball team (8-3) crushed the visiting Western Carolina Catamounts by a final score of 86-55 Wednesday evening. Led by 23 points from junior guard Miah Spencer, the Wolfpack never trailed throughout the entire game.
All 15 available NC State players took the court in the win and 12 scored at least two points. Spencer shot an impressive 9-13 from the field (3-5 from distance) to lead an efficient Wolfpack offense which went 31-66 (.470) on the evening and 11-24 (.458) from three-point range. NC State held a +12 edge in total rebounds (47-35) and scored 29 points from 14 Catamount turnovers.
"In practice we focused on ourselves, both not turning the ball over and not making mistakes on defense," Spencer said in a postgame interview. "Taking care of the ball is something we did well tonight."
Sherae Bonner (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Kyla Hough (10 points) scored in double figures for the visitors. The Catamounts shot 22-65 (.338) from the field and 2-17 (.118) from distance.
