Wrestle-Offs Determine Starting Spots

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State wrestling squad was in action for the first time Thursday afternoon, as the Wolfpack held its annual Wrestle-Offs in order to determine its potential starters.
125: With four wrestlers starting the day competing for the open spot, R-Fr. Sean Fausz defeated sophomore Jamel Morris in the finals, 18-4.
133: R-Fr. Jamal Morris downed Fr. Will Clark in the title bout, 8-3.
141: Returning All-American Kevin Jack scored a 7-1 decision over JUCO All-American Robbie Rizzolino.
149: In a wide open competition between six wrestlers, Beau Donahue came out on top with his win over Sam Melikian in the title bout, 2-1.
157: Tommy Gantt defeated Brian Hamann, who is redshirting this season, 7-4.
165: Max Rohskopf sat out, after picking up a win at the NWCA All-Star Classic this past weekend.
174: Nicky Hall scored a close 3-2 win over Lee Davis.
184: Pete Renda picked up a 16-1 tech fall win over freshman Roderick Davis.
197: R-Fr. Malik McDonald claimed the Pack's open spot at 197 pounds with a 6-0 win over freshman Tyler Johnson.
285: Both heavyweights, Nick Gwiazdowski and Mike Kosoy, are curently traveling to compete in the Bill Farrell International Open in New York this weekend.
The Wolfpack will be in dual action next weekend, traveling to the Northeast Duals to face Army, Minnesota and Sacred Heart next Sunday.
