
Dayes to Miss Remainder of Season with Foot Injury

Junior running back leads ACC in rushing TDs
RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State head football coach Dave Doeren has announced that junior running back Matthew Dayes will miss the remainder of the 2015 season after suffering a foot injury against Clemson.  Dayes will undergo surgery on Friday.

"I'm disappointed for Matt because he was having a really good year," said Doeren.  "But in football you've got to have a 'next man up' mentality, and I'm confident that his teammates will be ready to take on bigger roles and be successful."

Dayes' 108.1 rushing yards per game this season are the most for a Wolfpack player since 1981 (Joe McIntosh), while his 12 rushing touchdowns tie as the seventh-best single season mark in school history.Â

For his career, he posts 1,690 rushing yards, the 15th-best total in the NC State record books.
