RALEIGH - NC State redshirt junior Terry Henderson underwent successful surgery Monday night to stabilize his right ankle as a result of torn ligaments suffered last Friday in NC State's season opener vs. William & Mary.
The surgery was performed by NC State team physician Dr. David Boone.
Henderson, a Raleigh native, is expected to resume basketball-related activities in 6-8 weeks. The 6-5 Henderson started Friday night's contest before injuring his ankle seven minutes into the game.
Henderson, who sat out last season after transferring from West Virginia, averaged 11.7 points during his sophomore season in 2013-14.
