RALEIGH – The NC State women's soccer team made an effort to give back to its local community this week, purchasing socks to donate to a local clothing drive for a homeless shelter.
Assistant coach Kim Kern, who was one of the top goalkeepers in program history from 2008-11, first heard of the sock donation initiative at her local Cary boxing club. The organization is attempting to collect and donate 1,000 pairs of socks before the end of the 2015 calendar year. Members of the NC State women's soccer team purchased and donated 96 pairs of socks for the cause.
