Bilis Tabs National, ACC Swimmer Of The Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C.- After an undefeated performance on the west coast last weekend, sprint specialist Simonas Bilis tabbed CollegeSwimming.com National Swimmer of the Week, as well as ACC Male Swimmer of the Week honors as announced by both committees Tuesday.

A senior from Panevezys, Lithuania, Bilis won all four individual events in the Pack's dual meets against No. 2 California and No. 7 Stanford. He notched season-best NCAA 'B' standard times in the 50 and 100 freestyle events on Saturday at Stanford, as he posted marks of 19.47 and 43.08, respectively.

His time in the 100 stands as the fastest time in the country, while his mark in the 50 is the second-fastest time in the nation. Additionally, he helped lead three of the four relay teams he competed on to first-place finishes.Â

Additionally, CollegeSwimming.com recognized Bilis as the Conference Swimmer of the Week for the ACC.

The Pack will return to action when it hosts Texas Saturday inside Casey Aquatic Center. Its #REDOUT meet is set for an 11 a.m. start.Â
