Wolfpack Hosts No. 1 Virginia Wednesday

RALEIGH – The NC State women's soccer team hosts its final home match of the 2015 season on Wednesday, welcoming No. 1 Virginia to Dail Soccer Field for a 5 p.m. kickoff. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

RESCHEDULED MATCH
NC State and Virginia were originally set to meet in Raleigh on Friday, Oct. 2, but heavy sustained rain in the area forced the match to be rescheduled to Oct. 28.

LAST MATCH
NC State dropped a 1-0 decision to visiting Louisville on Sunday, Oct. 25. The match marked NC State's annual Senior Day, during which the Wolfpack honored the careers of seven student-athletes who will graduate prior to the start of the 2016 season.

YOUTH MOVEMENT
Eight of NC State's 13 goals (.615) and 23 of the Wolfpack's 39 points (.589) this season have come from freshmen and sophomores.

THE REGULARS
Only four Wolves have started all 17 matches of the 2015 season. Two of them--Hannah Keogh and Taylor Porter--are true freshmen. Two more freshmen--Ella Bonner and Crystal Cordova--have played in all 17 matches this year.

CHALLENGING FINISH
NC State's final two opponents of the season have a combined RPI of 14. After hosting Virginia (2) on Wednesday, the Pack will end the 2015 season at nearby opponent Duke (12).

-Wednesday's match marks the 40th all-time meeting between NC State and Virginia.
-The Cavaliers hold a 24-13-2 edge in the series.
