WILMINGTON, N.C. - The NC State women's golf team finds itself tied for 12th place after two rounds at the Landfall Tradition at Country Club of Landfall. The Wolfpack (+30) is tied with Ohio State in the team standings, just two shots behind Virginia and Clemson for ninth place.
Saturday's best round belonged to Leonie Bettel, who fired a 4-over par 76 for the second straight day. Bettel and Rachael Taylor (+8) are tied for 41st in the 96-player field. Laura Kowohl (+4) leads the Wolfpack over the two rounds and is tied for 23rd overall.
"Everyone had some struggles. The game didn't come easily today," head coach Page Marsh said. "We had a good ending, with Laura finishing with two birdies and Rachael getting one. It's a game you have to love and believe in even when it doesn't seem to love you back. We are fighters."
Duke (-5) is leading the tournament, owning a 10-shot lead over Oklahoma State. Alabama and Notre Dame (+9) are tied for third place. Notre Dame's Isabella DiLisio (-7) is the top individual after 36 holes.
Sunday's final round is a shotgun start beginning at 8:45 a.m.
