Women's Tennis Concludes Play at Wake Forest Invitational

The squad concluded play at the Wake Forest Invitational on Sunday
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Pack concluded play at the Wake Forest Invitational on Sunday. Claudia Wiktorin collected a victory in the final round of consolation singles on the last day of tournament play.
On Friday Wiktorin earned a 4-6, 7-6 (6-4), 6-0 win in the first round of consolation singles against Nicole Laduca of ECU. Wiktorin faced Richmond's Gaby Rosales in the final match-up of the consolation bracket on Sunday, concluding the day with a 1-6, 6-4, 7-5 victory.
Both doubles duos Amanda Rebol and Wiktorin and Tayla Stenta and Taylor Zaytoun netted wins in the first round of doubles competition on Saturday.
Rebol and Wiktorin defeated Srna Stosljevic and Jacquelyn Fitz-Randolph of UConn, 6-4 while Stenta and Zaytoun collected a 7-6 (6-4) win over Blaine Boaz and Corinne Blythe of UNCG.
On Saturday afternoon Rebol and Wiktorin fell 7-6 (4-2) to Luisa Fernandez and Andrea Retolaza from Wake Forest in the quarterfinal round. Stenta and Zaytoun fell 6-2 to Adriana Rajkovic and Nataliya Vlasova of ODU.
Additional matches were played in both singles and doubles competition following losses in main and consolation brackets.
The Wolfpack returns to action Oct. 18 in Florence, S.C., at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Florence 25K.
