Galarneau Wins ITF Futures Doubles Crown In Calgary

CALGARY, Alberta - Alexis Galarneau won the doubles championship at the ITF Futures tournament in Calgary this weekend to claim the first professional circuit title of his career.
Galarneau, a native of Laval, Quebec, paired up with UNC-Chapel Hill's Benjamin Sigouin, who is also from Canada. The duo defeated the tournament's No. 2 seed in straight sets, beating Alexios Halebian and Samuel Monette 7-5, 7-6 (4) to claim the championship match.
Galarneau and Sigouin took down three seeded opponents in their final three matches of the draw, also beating No. 1 seed Julian Bradley and Thai-Son Kwiatkowski and No. 3 seed Tyler Lu and Matt Seeberger on the way to winning the crown.
