
No. 19 Wiktorin & Rogers Advance to Sweet 16 at NCAA Doubles Championship

Wiktorin & Rogers become second duo in program history to make Sweet 16
WINSTON SALEM, N.C. – Junior Claudia Wiktorin & sophomore Anna Rogers became the second duo in NC State women's tennis history to advance to the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Doubles Championship after outlasting fourth-ranked Erin Larner and Maddie Lipp of Northwestern 2-6, 6-3, 12-10 Thursday afternoon at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.

The win also their 28thof the season, which saw them set a new program record for doubles wins one season. The previous record of 27 wins was set last season by Rogers and Martina Frantova.
The duo moves on to face No. 14 Ilze Hattingh and Lauryn John-Baptiste of Arizona State tomorrow at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
How it Happened
Wiktorin and Rogers pushed Larner and Lipp to a pair of break points in the opening set, but fell 6-2. The second set was a different story as the Wolfpack broke the Wildcats' serve with and won the set 6-3, pushing the match to a ten-point tiebreak in the third set.
The third set was a back-and-forth battle, with the Wolfpack being down a match point at 9-8. Wiktorin & Rogers showed resiliency and overcame the deficit, battling back to take the tiebreak 12-10.
