Graduate transfer to join Wolfpack
RALEIGH, N.C. – Second-year NC State volleyball head coach Linda Hampton-Keith announced Thursday that Keira Moore has joined the program as a graduate transfer. After spending her first three seasons at Gardner-Webb, Moore is enrolled at NC State and will go through spring workouts with the Wolfpack. She will have one year of eligibility remaining.

"Keira is a fantastic addition to our program," said Hampton-Keith. "She will give us depth at a critical position and she brings a great deal of athleticism, experience and maturity to our team. I'm excited to see how her contributions serve our team in her short time with us."

Moore hails from Spartanburg, S.C., and graduated with her degree in marketing in December from Gardner-Webb. The 6-2 middle blocker enjoyed a strong career as a member of the Bulldogs volleyball team.

In 2017, her redshirt junior season, she started 23 of 25 matches and saw action in a total of 86 sets. Moore was second in the Big South Conference in blocks, averaging 1.01 per set, and helped the Bulldogs finish second in the league in blocks as a team with 2.11 per set. She recorded 11 blocks in a five-set match against Sacred Heart, which was the most by an individual in the conference.

Moore was named the Big South Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 11, 2017, after collecting 24 blocks over four matches to lift Gardner-Webb to a 3-1 record during the week. Following the strong performance, she led the conference in total blocks and helped the Bulldogs compile the best opponent hitting percentage in the league with a .144 clip.

She was also a force offensively with 173 kills last season, third most on the Bulldogs and she tallied a career-high 18 kills against USC Upstate.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2016, Moore played in 29 matches and earned the start in 15 of those contests. She appeared in 99 sets to log the third-most kills on the squad with 181, highlighted by a season-high 15 versus UNC Asheville. Additionally, Moore charted 55 blocks to rank third on the squad.

The Spartanburg High School product saw action in 29 sets during her redshirt freshman campaign with 24 kills after sitting out her true freshman season in 2014.

Moore has 378 career kills and 151 career blocks.

She was an all-region performer in high school, earning defensive MVP honors in her senior season. Moore recorded a .520 attacking percentage during that year and played club with Upstate Volleyball.

NC State's record-breaking season came to a close in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against second-ranked Texas after the Wolfpack defeated Oregon State in the first round for the program's first victory in the NCAA Tournament.

The Pack finished the year with a 21-12 overall record, highlighted by a program record 15 ACC wins. NC State also compiled a perfect 10-0 mark in home ACC matches for the first time in program history.
