Playing against the team of Janina Braun and Anastasia Rentauli of Mississippi State in the opening round of pre-qualifying doubles, Moldovan and Reami outlasted them 9-8 (2) in a back-and-forth battle.
Singles
Playing against No. 8 Alannah Griffin of Auburn, who was also ranked No. 94 in the ITA preseason singles poll, in the first round of pre-qualifying singles, Reami earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory. She then moved on to face Virginia's Meghan Kelley, battling hard but ultimately falling 7-6 (11), 6-4.
Moldovan was defeated 6-3, 7-6 (4) in her opening round match against Auburn's Jaeda Daniel, but bounced back in her second match as she defeated Anja Dokic of Boise State 6-2, 6-3.
Assistant Coach David Secker was pleased how the Wolfpack started off the Championships.
"Today was a productive day of tennis," he explained. "Some good signs and trying to establish the way we want to play early in the season. Looking forward to picking up in doubles tomorrow the way we finished today."
