Two more members of the Wolfpack track team are headed to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon after qualifying during the last day of competition at the east regional meet in Lexington, Ky. Megan Moye will compete in the 1500m, while Erika Kemp is a qualifier in the 5000m. Sam Parsons qualified on Thursday in the men's 10,000m.
Moye, the NC State outdoor record holder in the 1500m, was the top finisher for NC State on Saturday, clocking in at 4:12.42 to finish second overall in the event. Earning the trip to nationals was especially significant for the senior, as she contracted food poisoning at last year's regional meet and failed to advance.
Erika Kemp will seek her second All-America honor in the 5000m in June after qualifying today with a mark of 16:29.52. Kemp, who holds the second-fastest time in school history in the event, has been a three-time ACC Performer of the Week during the outdoor season.
Other action today included Elly Henes and Ryen Frazier in the 5000m. The tandem finished with marks of 16:37.48 and 17:00.58 respectively, but failed to advance.
In other action today, Gabriele Cunningham finished 13th overall in the 100m hurdles with a 13.51. Lauren Evans threw a 53'1/4 (16.16m) and Alyssa Dunn went 48'7-1/4 (14.81m) in the women's shot and Javonne Antoine posted a 39'9-1/4 (12.12m) mark in the women's triple jump.
The men's 4x100m relay mark crossed the line at 39.86, and the 4x400m squad posted a 3:12.16 mark, but neither qualified for nationals.
