
Parsons Heading to NCAA Championships

Wolfpack distance specialist Sam Parsons punched his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships during Friday's competition at the East Region preliminary meet in Lexington, Ky. The senior finished sixth with a time of 29:58.60 in the 10,000 meters – the last event of the day – to qualify for the finals next month.
Three other members of the Wolfpack advanced from their events today and will have a chance to join Parsons in Eugene, Oregon. Megan Moye finished third overall in the women's 1500 meters with a time of 4:18.18, moving on to Saturday's quarterfinal.
NC State will be represented in the men's and women's 100 meter quarterfinals on Friday evening, after Gabriele Cunningham and Cravont Charleston advanced from the 1st round. Cunningham, who will also compete in the 100 hurdles tomorrow at 4:30 p.m., will run the 100m at 6 p.m. after clocking in at 11.46 - finishing third in her heat.
Charleston, a freshman who was named the MVP of the ACC Outdoor meet, also finished third in his 100m heat on Friday with a time of 10.41. The men's quarterfinal race is scheduled for a 6:15 p.m. start on Friday.
Sophomore Nyheim Hines did not advance in the 100 after crossing the line at 10.416, but will join Charleston, Dylan Peebles and Junpai Dowdy in the 4x100m relay quarterfinals on Saturday.
Eli Moskowitzh clocked in at 30:46.27 to finish 26th In the men's 10,000m, while Erika Kemp finished 20th in that event on the women's side at 34:37.88.
The Wolfpack did not advance in today's field events, as Josh Davis finished 25th in the men's hammer with a 203'3 (61.95m) mark. Lauren Evans finished 43rd in the women's hammer, throwing a 170'6 (51.98).
