Pack Closes Competition at Penn Relays Carnival

Freshman Cravont Charleston smashed his career best in the 100 meters, finishing fifth in the championship of that event at the final day of competition at the Penn Relays Carnival in Philadelphia. The Charlotte freshman posted a 10.24, solidifying his standing on the NCAA qualifier list.
Charleston's former Mallard Creek High School teammate, sophomore Gabriele Cunningham, also competed in the 100m championship on Saturday, finishing in 11.72 to finish ninth on the women's side.
Earlier in the day, Charleston teamed with Sam Krehnbrink, Dylan Peebles and Abdur-Rahmaan Kelly in the finals of the 4x100 meter relay. The Wolfpack squad finished eighth with a 40.99 clocking.
In the college hammer throw, Joshua Davis threw a 66.35 (217-8) to finish third. Yesterday, Davis threw a personal best in the discus competition.
NC State closed out its trip to the historic Penn Relays with Sam Parson's 12th-place finish in the Olympic Development Mile. The senior from Newark, Delaware ran a 4:15.10.
