
NC State Welcomes No. 1 Wake Forest for Senior Day

RALEIGH N.C. – The NC State men's tennis team will host No. 1 Wake Forest on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. The team will honor Nick Horton in a senior day ceremony before the match.
The Pack currently holds a 13-12 (4-6 ACC) record and has won four of its last six matches.
Scouting Wake Forest:
Wake Forest enters the match with a 22-1 (9-0 ACC) record. The Demon Deacons are coming off of a 6-1 win over Louisville this past weekend. Petros Chrysochos leads Wake Forest in singles and is ranked No. 3 in the ITA national polls. No. 15 Skander Mansouri, No. 45 Borna Gojo, and No. 69 Christian Seraphim round out the singles rankings. In doubles, Seraphim and Mansouri are ranked No. 1 in the latest ITA rankings.
Horton's Final Home Match:
NC State will honor Nick Horton before the match. The senior has been an outstanding leader for NC State throughout his career on and off the court. Horton has played at every singles and doubles position over the course of his four-year career with the Wolfpack. He's reached the highest levels of collegiate tennis, including capturing the ITA Carolina Regional Doubles Title and being named to the All-ACC Team in 2016. Horton is currently nationally ranked in singles and doubles. He's also climbing the school's all-time wins list. He is currently ranked sixth with 84 singles wins and tied for sixth with 64 doubles victories.
Pack In The Polls:
Horton moved up four spots to No. 76 in the singles poll after defeating his fifth ranked opponent of the season. Alexis Galarneau checked in at No. 119 in the latest poll. The duo checks in at No. 53 in the doubles poll, while Galarneau and Michael Ogden lead the team and debut in the doubles poll at No. 48 after sweeping both of their opponents last weekend from the top doubles spot.

The NC State men's tennis team hosted two teams this past weekend. The Wolfpack downed Miami 5-2 on Friday afternoon. This was the team's fourth ACC victory in its last five matches. However, the team ended its weekend falling 5-2 to Florida State on Saturday afternoon. The Pack sent the four final singles matches to three sets and fell in a tiebreaker to decide the doubles point in the close match.
