Wolfpack recruiting coordinator promoted to associate head coach
RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State volleyball head coach Linda Hampton-Keith announced on Monday the promotion of Kevin Maureen Campbell, who spent last season as an assistant coach with the program, to associate head coach.
"I'm extremely grateful for Kevin's service to this program and her commitment to create a quality experience for each of our athletes over the course of our first year," said Hampton-Keith. "Her tireless efforts are appreciated and embody the characteristics we value in our program."
Campbell joined the program as an assistant coach in January of 2016, shortly after the announcement of Hampton-Keith as the Wolfpack's new head coach. She coordinates the team's defense and works with the liberos, in addition to serving as the program's recruiting coordinator and academics liaison.
"I feel so privileged to be able to work here at NC State," Campbell added. "Our volleyball staff is incredible and I feel very grateful to be here. I feel empowered by Linda in this new role and I'm incredibly grateful to her because she helps me be a better leader.
"It's an awesome environment to grow as a coach."
With Campbell's expertise, NC State finished fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with 15.57 digs per set – the second-best average in the program's rally-scoring era. The Pack's 1,900 digs for the season ranks as the second most for a single season during the rally-scoring era.
Additionally, senior Rachel Eppley ranked among the top 10 in the conference a season ago with 4.20 digs per set and second in NC State single-season history in the rally-scoring era.
The Wolfpack held opponents to an attacking percentage less than .200 in 14 matches during the season, headlined by four matches less than .100.
