AUBURN, Ala. — Freshman James Brady wrapped up his first trip to the NCAA Zone B Championships with a sixth-place finish in the platform event to qualify for the 2017 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
The final day of the Zone B Diving Championships featured platform diving for both men's and women's. The Wolfpack posted impressive results, sending four-of-five divers into finals in their respective events. The highlight of the day was Brady, who earned a spot at the 2017 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships set to take place March 22-25.
Radman's Recap
"Today was an outstanding day for Wolfpack diving," said head diving coach Yahya Radman. "The women had a very good meet—Madeline made her way into finals and had the opportunity to dive a second list and then moved up in finals. This was only Rachel's second list on platform in her diving career and it happened to be at Zones, so I couldn't be happier with her. We have a lot of work left to do with her and she's excited about what the future holds.
"On the men's side, we had all three of our divers get personal records, which was outstanding, and all three made it into finals. That was huge for us. But the highlight was James Brady punching his ticket to NCAAs on tower. As a freshman, that's an impressive feat.
"I couldn't be prouder of this team and it feels like a mission accomplished—coming here, getting experience and the bonus is getting a kid to NCAAs. Now it's time to join the swimmers and help our goals come true."
