
No. 26 NC State to Host No. 46 Clemson, Pittsburgh

RALEIGH- The No. 26 NC State women's tennis team will return to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center after two wins on the road to host a pair of ACC matches this weekend. The team is set to play Clemson at 3 p.m. Friday and Pittsburgh at noon Sunday.
Last Time Out
The Wolfpack will enter Friday's match having beat both of its competitors last weekend. NC State defeated Notre Dame by a narrow 4-3 decision and took down Wake Forest on Sunday by a final score of 5-2. The results move the team to an overall record of 14-7 (3-5 ACC).
Wolfpack In the Rankings
NC State moved up nearly 10 spots from the March 20 poll, settling at No. 26 in the latest Oracle/ITA poll. Wolfpack senior Martina Frantova is ranked No. 55 in singles, while in doubles, Frantova and her partner Anna Rogers improved nine spots to No. 21 with an 18-1 (7-1 ACC) record. The duo will seek its 10th-straight win this weekend.Â
Scouting Clemson
No. 46 Clemson will head to Raleigh on a three match winning streak, defeating Pittsburgh, Marshall and College of Charleston. The Tigers hold a season record of 8-8 (3-4 ACC). Clemson sophomore Ayan Broomfield leads the team in the latest Oracle/ITA singles poll at No. 83 with a 14-12 record at the top singles position. In doubles play, Broomfield and Marie Leduc are coming off a four match winning streak, losing only one match out of the last 10. Broomfield and Leduc are ranked No. 50 in the polls and own a 14-3 overall record (5-1 ACC).
Scouting Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh's team will enter Sunday's match having lost four-straight matches. The team owns a 3-8 (0-7 ACC) season record and is winless on the road. In singles, Amber Washington leads the team with a 6-4 (4-2 ACC) record at the top position. Washington and her partner Callie Frey own a 5-5 (2-4 ACC) record in No. 1 doubles. NC State is undefeated against the Panthers with a 3-0 record. Before heading to Raleigh, Pitt will take on No. 17 Duke Friday.
