Scouting James Madison:
Four matches into the season, the Dukes of James Madison remain undefeated. The team holds an experienced roster, with five juniors and seniors and only one freshman. The team earned two close 4-3 wins over Penn State and George Washington, but most recently breezed to a 6-1 win over Navy. The Wolfpack will look to extended its 3-1 overall series lead and end JMU's win streak with a victory on Friday. Â
Scouting Furman:
The team has outlasted four of its seven competitors this season, leading to a 4-3 season record. Senior Ansley Speaks has a 4-2 record as the No. 1 singles player, and will enter the match on a three-match win streak. In the overall series, NC State leads 12-9.
Scouting William & Mary:
The Tribe holds a split season record, with three wins and three losses. At the conclusion of the 2015-16 season, the team was ranked No. 39 with an 18-7 ledger. Historically, William & Mary leads 11-6 in the series.
Scouting ETSU:
For only the third time in program history, the Wolfpack will go head-to-head with ETSU. The Buccaneers have earned a 2-2 record this season, led by Ioanna Markesini, a junior from Athens, Greece, who recently landed on the Oracle/ITA poll at No. 105. Markesini is currently on a three-match win streak.
Last Time Out
The Pack split its doubleheader last Friday as it dropped a tough match against Kansas, falling 4-3 in the final set of the day, then bouncing back to win handily against East Carolina, 6-1.
