NC State to compete at The Citadel for NRA Sectional
RALEIGH, N.C. – The ninth-ranked NC State rifle team will head to Charleston, S.C., this weekend to participate in the National Rifle Association (NRA) Sectional hosted by The Citadel. Competition is slated to begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday inside the Inuoye Marksmanship Center.
Â
The Wolfpack enters the match with a 10-5 record on the season and will be joined in competition at the event by the host Bulldogs, North Georgia, Georgia Military College and Clemson's Club Team.
Â
NC State is very familiar with its opponents and the site of competition, as the Wolfpack traveled to The Citadel in October 2016 earning a victory against the Bulldogs.
Â
The Pack also defeated North Georgia in its most recent outing last Sunday inside Reynolds Coliseum. NCSU compiled a team score of 4657, while UNG collected a team score of 4547.
Â
NC State heads into the weekend looking to fire an aggregate team score among the top three of the season. The Wolfpack earned its best result of the season when it defeated Army with a program record 4673.
Â
Additionally, NC State logged its third-best mark also at Army's facility in the squad's match with Nebraska. The Red and White's second overall score of the year was fired in the season opener at home against top-ranked West Virginia with a 4671 clip.
