#PackXC Women Claim Third-Straight Top-10 Finish at Nationals; Men Earn Highest #NCAAXC Finish Since 2011

The women's team placed eighth with 280 points, while the men finished 17th with 455 points.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Wolfpack showed out Saturday morning at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, as NC State was one of just nine programs to have both the men's and women's teams finish inside the top-20 at the 2017 NCAA Cross Country National Championships.
The Pack women finished in the top-10 nationally for the third-straight season, placing eighth as a team with 280 points. On the men's side, NC State finished 17th for the program's highest finish since 2011.
Women's Race Recap:
The Wolfpack was led by sophomore Elly Henes, who placed 32nd in the national field with a 6K time of 20:07.62. The Cary, N.C. native vastly improved on a 159th-place finish at the National Championships a year ago.
Beth Taye was the next Pack athlete across the finish line, placing 54th in her first career Nationals appearance. The sophomore clocked a personal-best time of 20:22.23.
Dominique Clairmonte's breakout redshirt-freshman campaign came to a close with a 58th-place outing, finishing the 6K course in 20:23.62. A native of Lexington, Ohio, Clairmonte boasted top-5 ACC and Southeast Regional performances in her first year competing for NC State.
Rachel Koon was the Pack's fourth runner, placing 82nd overall with a mark of 20:35.29. Ryen Frazier completed the Wolfpack top-five, finishing 150th in 21:04.75.
Isabel Zimmermann came in just seconds later, placing 169th in her NCAA Nationals debut with a 21:14.63 performance. Alyssa Rudawsky was the final Wolfpack runner to cross the finish line, placing 210th in 21:43.96.
Men's Race Recap:
Graduate student Aubrey Myjer and true freshman Ian Shanklin crossed the line side-by-side as the duo placed 74th and 75th, respectively, to lead the Pack. Myjer posted a time of 30:28.31 in his final collegiate cross country meet, while Shanklin clocked in at 30:28.64 in his NCAA Nationals debut.
Elijah Moskowitz was the Pack's third man, placing 95th with a mark of 30:37.66. The junior from Amherst, N.H. improved by nearly 150 places from last year's national meet, where he finished 243rd.
Redshirt-freshman Joe Bistritz and redshirt-junior Patrick Sheehan completed NC State's top-five, placing 137th (31:00.45) and 158th (31:13.04) respectively. Other finishers for the Pack included Ben Barrett and Philip Hall, who crossed the line 188th (31:28.50) and 238th (32:34.46).
Henes Earns All-America Honors
With a 32nd-place finish at the NCAA National Championships, Elly Henes was recognized as an All-American following the meet. All-America honors are presented to the top-40 finishers on both the men's and women's sides.
Henes joins her parents, Bob and Laurie Henes, as members of her family to earn All-America honors in cross country for the Wolfpack. Bob was a three-time All-American from 1987-1990, while Laurie claimed All-America status twice in 1990 and 1991.
