10/1/2017 5:40:00 PM | Women's Volleyball
CLEMSON, S.C. – The NC State volleyball team turned in a record-breaking performance in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-22) sweep against the Clemson Tigers Sunday afternoon inside Jervey Gym, as the Wolfpack set the rally-scoring era program record for blocks in a three-set match with 14.5.
Â
In a stellar defensive effort, NC State logged 5.5 blocks in the first set, six in the second and three in the final frame to log the most blocks in a three-set match by a team in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) this season in addition to the program record.
Â
The Wolfpack has won nine of its last 10 matches to improve its overall record to 9-6 and remains unbeaten in ACC play at 4-0, the best start in conference action since 2012. Clemson falls to 5-11 and 0-4 in league play.
Â
Worth Noting
- NC State's 14.5 blocks eclipse the previous rally-scoring era program mark of 14 set at Wake Forest on Oct. 19, 2011.
- The Wolfpack's total also bests the conference's season high of 13.5 blocks for a three-set match accomplished by Notre Dame on Sept. 15.
- Sophomore middle blocker Lauryn Terry played a large role in the defensive performance, as she tallied the most blocks by an individual in the ACC this season with a career-high 11 stops. Her mark matches the most by any player in the NCAA for a three-set match this year.

Overall thoughts…
"We don't take for granted how tough it is to go on the road in this conference and win let alone get both wins in the weekend, so I'm really proud of this team, the composure and maturity they continue to show," said head coach Linda Hampton-Keith. "I think we're really growing into our identity and in any given match any one can step up and give the team what it needs to be successful."
