
Pack Concludes Action at Bob Pollock Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – The NC State track and field team continued its push for the postseason at the Bob Pollock Invitational, turning in a few historically fast times, as well as setting multiple personal bests and ACC qualifying marks.
After entering the weekend with 10 top-50 marks in the NCAA, NC State now has 17 times within the top-50 of the nation. Additionally, five athletes are in ranked in the top-16 and are in a position to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Sprints:
Shannon Patterson moved up from eighth to sixth in the NC State record book with a 21.35 indoor 200m dash. Patterson took second overall and now leads the ACC with the mark. His time is ranked 31st in the NCAA. Quashawn Cunningham took third overall with a time of 21.40 and is now ranked second in the ACC.
Dylan Peebles (21.64) and Cravont Charleston (21.67) rounded out the top-10, finishing ninth and 10th, respectively.
Paisley Simmons led the Wolfpack women, finishing fifth overall with an indoor personal best of 24.04. The time qualifies Simmons for the ACC Championships, moves her to fifth in the ACC standings and is the second fastest indoor 200m in school history.
Gabriele Cunningham took 12th in the event, finishing with a personal best of 24.63. Her mark ranks seventh in school history.
The Pack took third in the men's 4x400 relay, running a season-high 3:14.78 in the event. Patterson ran the fastest split of the day with a 47.79 second leg. Cunningham led the team through the opening leg, while Peebles ran the third leg and Sam Krehnbrink anchored the relay.
Distance:
In the 3,000m, Kaitlyn Kramer added her second PR in as many races, running 9:30.13 for second place. Elly Henes made her 3,000m debut and finished third overall with a time of 9:31.63. Both runners earned ACC qualifying marks with their times.
On the men's side, Patrick Sheehan led the Pack on his season debut, finishing seventh overall with a time of 8:15.90. He narrowly missed out on the conference qualifying mark, while Ben Barrett and Zack Langston each finished in the top-15.
Throws:
Lauren Evans added a second-place finish in the women's shot put with a throw of 46'9.00", and Alyssa Dunn finished sixth overall with a mark of 42'6.00".
Jumps:
Wolfpack alumnus Kris Kornegay-Gober soared over the bar at 7'3.25" to win the high jump. Chris Garrick finished second behind Koregay-Gober, clearing 6'10.75". On the women's side, Margaret Edwards cleared a season-best 5'5.00" to finish eighth overall.
In the triple jump, Javonne Antoine finished second with a leap of 40'1.25" and Amara Bell took third with a jump of 39'5.75".

Next weekend the Pack will split its time between the VT Elite and the Camel City Invite. Both meets have historically hosted elite competition and will provide a big opportunity for the Pack to earn strong marks.
