RIO DE JANEIRO-Â Simonas Bilis and Anton Ipsen capped off their showings at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro on Friday with strong performances in their respective events, as Bilis finished eighth in the 50m freestyle finals and Ipsen posted an 18th-place finish in the 1500m free standings.Â
Bilis, who represented Lithuania in the pool, swam a time of 22.08 in the 50m free. He additionally swam the freestyle leg of Lithuania's 4x100 medley relay in Friday's prelims. He posted a split time of 48.29 while the squad finished 14th overall with a time of 3:35.90.
Ipsen stopped the clock at 15:05.91 to win the third heat of the 1500m free and post a personal best time. The performance earned the Birkerod, Denmark, native his second top-20 finish in Rio, as he took 20th in the 400m free on Aug. 6.
NC State swimming and diving's four Olympians have concluded their showings at the Olympic Games. The Wolfpack will return to Raleigh with one gold medal and top-30 finishes in the other six events contested.Â
