Program receives award for fifth-straight year
RALEIGH- The NC State women's golf program has received a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA for earning high scores in the most recent Academic Progress Rate (APR) compilation for the 2014-15 academic year.
This marks the fifth-straight year the Wolfpack has received the honor, as the APR Public Recognition Awards are given annually to teams with an APR in the top 10 percent of its sport.
The NCAA's APR is designed to track the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship at a particular institution. It accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation to provide a measure of each team's academic performance.
The ACC saw 10 of its 12 women's golf programs recognized by the NCAA, the most for any conference in the nation. Six ACC women's golf programs - NC State, Florida State, Louisville, Virginia, North Carolina and Wake Forest - have been in the APR top 10 percent for five straight years.
