EUGENE, Ore. – The NC State men's 4x100 relay team of Nyheim Hines, Jonathan Addison, Shannon Patterson and Quashawn Cunningham made history Friday night at Haywood Field, finishing seventh in the 4x100 finals with a time of 39.48.
The group becomes the first 4x100 All-Americans in program history since 1991 and is the eighth Wolfpack 4x100 team to finish as All-Americans.
Hines, Patterson, and Cunningham are first-time All-Americans, and Addison concludes his career as a five-time All-American with his previous four honors coming in the long jump.
In addition to the honors tonight, the relay team set the Virginia Challenge meet record, won the ACC 4x100 title and went undefeated in head-to-head races through the qualifying period to the NCAA Championships.
The Pack will look to keep a strong 4x100 team in years to come. The three returning sprinters are underclassmen and the team brings in a strong group of sprinters to the 2016 recruiting class.
The finish earned two points towards the team score, bringing the Pack to seven total points good for 33rd place.
On Wednesday, Jonathan Addison finished fifth in the long jump and Luis Vargas and Sam Parsons raced in the 10,000m. Vargas took 7th in the race to add two points to the team's total.
