Quotes from the Wolfpack
Head Coach Wes Moore's opening statement: "Obviously the other night we were a little sloppy against the press and then we started the first minute tonight with three turnovers. I was a little concerned at first but we only turned the ball over four more times the rest of the night. We did a much better job of taking care of the ball. We got out and ran. Fast break points and our points off turnovers were good for us tonight. Defensively, I thought we did a good job against what they run. They do a lot of X-ing off the post and cuts. For the most part we did a good job of jumping the ball and keeping it on the side. We didn't shoot the three very well but still shot it as often as we normally do and it was nice to see us score in different ways. That's what you have to do to be a good team. It was a good night and just have to keep building and stacking performances so we can be ready for ACC play."
Miah Spencer on the team's depth: "I remember playing almost 40 minutes every game last year and it wasn't easy. The players we have coming off the bench have a spark and this helps our energy. Coach Moore has recruited good players and it showed tonight."
Aislinn Konig on the strong play from the bench: ""I just come out and do my best for the team. I come out with a mindset that you're going to do everything you can to help the team win. You don't think so much what your stats are going to be but making sure the team is successful as a whole."
Akela Maize on her strong performance: "God gave me the ability to be 6-5 and my teammates threw the ball to me a lot, so I think that I am capable of making an impact in every game if I effectively use my size."
NC State closes its four-game home stand Monday evening against Maryland Eastern Shore. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
