SWEEP! #PackXC Takes Women's, Men's Regional Crown

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – The NC State men's and women's cross country teams swept the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship on Friday for the first time since 2007. The No. 2 nationally ranked women's team claimed the top nod with a dominant win, beating second place Louisville by an impressive 110 point margin. The No. 27 men's team outscored No. 16 Virginia for the win by 15 points. The top-place finishes secures both the women's and men's teams a spot in the NCAA Championships next Saturday.

All-Regional Honorees:
Nine Wolfpack runners earned All-Southeast Region honors, as five women and four men placed in the top 25 of their respective races. Erika Kemp, Ryen Frazier, Rachel Koon, Alyssa Rudawsky and Elly Henes received the honor, marking Kemp's third, Koon's second and Frazier's second top-25 finish at Regionals. On the men's side Sam Parsons, Aubrey Myjer, Sebastian Hanson and Patrick Sheehan were top-25 finishers. Parsons has now has four All-Regional finishes.Â
Women's Race:
All five of the team's scorers finished in the top 20 of the women's 6k race . Kemp led the Pack with a second place finish, followed by a 10-11-12 punch from Frazier, Koon and Rudawsky. Henes wrapped up the host of Wolfpack scorers with a 19th place finish. Kaitlyn Kramer and Beth Taye, the team's sixth and seventh place runners, finished in 44th and 79th place, respectively. Louisville took second place to earn an automatic bid to NCAA Championships.
Men's Race:
With his highest regional finish of his career, Parsons crossed the line in fourth place during the men's 10k competition. Myjer, Hanson, Sheehan and Moskowitz rounded out the efforts with 10th, 17th, 20th and 39th place finishes, respectively. Philip Hall finished in 91st place for the Wolfpack. The Virginia men will also earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.

The Wolfpack will close out the season at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday, November 19th.
